In 2009 Health Converter sought a minoxidil based product that we could privately label into our own brand. All of the pharmaceutical companies we contacted that could fill the order required million dollar + initial orders and had a waiting period of 18 weeks. When we stumbled across Gary McNelley’s Pacific Naturals, a dietary supplement manufacturer and OTC drug supplier, we hit the bulls eye. Not only could Pacific Naturals fill our order in 4 weeks, the pricing was very competitive.
After placing the minoxidil order, we reached out to another company to help us promote it, Market Health. We soon discovered that Market Health was also owned by Gary McNelley. It was soon after those discussions, Market Health started advertising their offers on Health Converter. We’ve had nothing but a great experience Gary and his team. The Market Health offers – all of which are available on Health Converter – are strong offers that never go down. That’s why Market Health has had the same affiliates year in and year out.
We caught up with Gary for an interview:
Tell us a little background on yourself and how Market Health came about?
Born and raised in LA, MBA from the University of Phoenix and been in the affiliate marketing in game since the mid 90’s. My friend and now business partner ran a Health and Beauty Mfg company that we now own. We joined forces and built the company we have today.
What are the greatest challenges you’ve faced in building Market Health?
Our biggest challenge is competition and trying to keep our affiliates FDA/FTC compliant.
We’ve seen a lot of merchants come and go in this space over the last few years. What’s the secret to longevity in this industry?
Running a clean shop and keeping the customers happy.
Any tips to new merchants getting into the health and beauty vertical?
The FTC is after our industry so get a good lawyer to review your marketing material and stay out of trouble. I use Todd Harrison at Venable…he is a great guy.
We agree, Tod Harrison’s law firm, Venable, is the go to firm in the industry. Make sure they review your sites prior to launch:

Tell us a little bit out the manufacturing side of your business and how you stay competitive in such a saturated space?
There will always be competition in any industry. To stand out from the crowd we focus on service and support. We assist clients in overall business strategies, logistics, and compliance. But most important, we give great prices and get the products to the client faster than anyone else in the biz.
What are your thoughts on the future of this industry? Health and Beauty?
Endless…. I believe affiliate marketing will continue to be a powerful marketing channel for years to come as well.
